"Cuidadoras en Red" es un proyecto de innovación tecnológica web 2.0 en software libre que tiene como propósito principal mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas cuidadoras no profesionales en el ámbito domiciliario y su integración en la sociedad del conocimiento.

Tanto las cuidadoras familiares como las personas que trabajan prestando ayuda en el cuidado de los ancianos y de las personas dependientes son mujeres y, por ello, utilizamos el género gramatical femenino para referirnos a ellas, independientemente de su sexo.

La dura labor a la que se enfrentan estas personas, sin preparación previa para cuidar, merece ser apoyada por toda la sociedad y, especialmente, por los servicios públicos sociosanitarios, así como por sus familiares.

En Andalucía, desde la aprobación del Decreto de Apoyo a las Familias Andaluzas (BOJA, nº 52 de 2002), los Equipos Básicos de Atención Primaria del Servicio Andaluz de Salud ofrecen a las Cuidadoras Familiares formación para el cuidado que realizan a través del Taller "Cuidarse para Cuidar", coordinado por la enfermera/o comunitaria/o de enlace de cada Zona Básica de Salud.

Estos talleres resultan muy efectivos para las cuidadoras como espacio de formación y apoyo entre ellas y con los enfermeros/as de Atención Primaria. De este modo, ante las oportunidades que ofrece la web 2.0 como herramienta de comunicación y de apoyo, consideramos que las personas cuidadoras no profesionales (familiares/amigas o personas asalariadas) pueden beneficiarse de ella, tanto en la prestación de los diversos cuidados que realizan y en su propio autocuidado, como en el empoderamiento que otorga el acceso a la información y el conocimiento a través de Internet.

"Cuidadoras en Red" nace el 22 de noviembre de 2008 como red de apoyo sociosanitario para las personas cuidadoras, promovida por el Instituto de Innovación para el Bienestar Ciudadano (I2BC) en colaboración con el Departamento de Enfermería de la Universidad de Málaga, y te invita a participar en ella. En este espacio de innovación, de intercambio de conocimientos, experiencias, recursos y asesoramiento, tenemos cabida todas y todos los que nos solidarizamos con el Cuidado a las personas mayores y dependientes, seamos cuidadoras, pacientes y familiares, profesionales sociosanitarios y, en definitiva, la sociedad en general.
